Archetek – Soar (ft. Sodie)

March 17th, 2012

Archetek was a part of Knobtweakers from the beginning — originally as a bartender, but even then he was producing great music. He’s a product of Salt Lake City’s tight knit electronic music scene, which is home to some great talent.

Much of his recent work sounds like dub step for grown ups. Real songs that reach beyond wobbly bass gimmicks and pull the listener in. It’s been raining here in the San Francisco bay for days, and while we listened to his remix of Yello’s “Oh Yeah” we could feel some of the gloom lift.

Ben Crea – Education Video (aka Dance With Grandpa)

May 4th, 2010

Ben Crea is an electronic music producer from Australia. We have featured him on Knobtweakers before, and his tracks have never failed to ignite the dance floor. I love the lo-fi music video – a hilarious use of Chatroulette!

Phonat – Set Me Free (Video)

April 23rd, 2010

The first time I heard this track, I was reminded of the first time I heard Daft Punk. It is groundbreaking music. Phonat is sure to go down in history as one of the most influential knob tweakers of our day. You might as well throw out all the rest of your tracks, ’cause next to this, they’re all garbage. How do other music videos stack up? It’s difficult to make a comparison. Few other videos complement the music so perfectly. Phonat is mind-bending in the most delightful way.

Black Eyed Peas “Imma Be Rocking That Body” Video

April 21st, 2010

This video by the Black Eyed Peas sneaks up on you. It starts out as an innocent-looking rap video, and progresses into a funky electro house epic rocker. The action really starts to get good around 6:00 in. Just try not to dance.
